A lot of us have been talking about putting together an annual memorial session/competition in Aidan's honor. Lets all plan this out here. One idea was to get together at Archives and mob around downtown 12:30 Gold style. I like the idea, but there aren't that many spots left downtown anymore. Another idea was Arlington park, but I've heard that you get ticketed for not wearing a helmet now and that is wack. Everyone put your ideas out there and lets make this happen!
Mike Matason has suggested that we could start at Arlington Park and then head downtown. Also pointed out that there is a bar right next to Archives that everyone could hit up for food and drinks after we skate.
One of the Occupy D.C. camps in at Freedom Plaza right now. I've seen videos of people still skateboarding there in the background of television interviews. Usually hard to skate there without police harassment anyway. From what I have heard there has been park police monitoring the park most of the time.
I'd say spots in DC since it's pretty much the mid point in between everyone in the area. archives, 1230 rails, maybe puke rails? I don't know of many spots in DC though
i feel ya...dc is hard to skate but since its an rip session i think archives is appropriate for the man...musta watched his sections over and over...dude was ahead of rollerblading
We were thinking of Chicken Holmes rail in Arlington. People can skate the rail if they want and everyone can bring boxes to put on the basketball court and skate. Also a picnic area for everyone to eat and drink and yada yada
